Board of Education Meeting Minutes

January 15, 2007

The Rawlins County USD #105 Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, January 15, 2007, at 5:45 p.m. in the board room at Rawlins County Elementary School. The meeting was called to order by President, Pattie Wolters. Those in attendance include: Sylvia Walker, Chris Sramek, Kirk Lowry, Bill Beamgard, Mark Wolters, Kurt Dillon, Kathy Davis-Vrbas, Rawlins County Square Deal representative and Pam Dillon. Dawn Hampton arrived at 5:59 p.m.

Motion by Bill Beamgard, seconded by Sylvia Walker to approve the agenda. Motion carried 5-0.

Motion by Chris Sramek, seconded by Bill Beamgard to approve the minutes of the December 18, 2006 meeting. Motion carried 5-0.

Music Room Discussion / Suggestions

Motion by Bill Beamgard, seconded by Brad Leitner to grant the bus request of Northwest Winds Special Olympics team. Motion carried 7-0.

National School Board Association Enrollment

Negotiations Committee will consist of: Andy Green and Pattie Wolters. Pattie will serve as Head Negotiator.

Motion by Bill Beamgard, seconded by Sylvia Walker to pay the required $500.00 for her participation in the Fulbright Teacher Project to Argentina next summer. Motion carried 7-0.

Motion by Andy Green, seconded by Kirk Lowry to pay the claims. Motion carried 7-0.

Superintendent's Evaluation - Motion by Andy Green, seconded by Brad Leitner to complete the superintendent's evaluation and meet with Mr. Wolters prior to the February monthly meeting. Motion carried 7-0.

The board recessed the meeting at 7:20 p.m. to go to the Rawlins County High School for the public meeting, item 07-106, listed above.

President Pattie Wolters reconvened the meeting at 7:40 p.m. in the auditorium at RCHS.

Mr. Wolters showed a power point presentation highlighting the changes that have taken place over the past several years with the music facilities. Those present at the public presentation were: Patti Ottem, Mark Bergling, Rosalie Ross, Julie Cahoj, Kayla Tiemeyer, Kathy Davis-Vrbas, Alice Hill and Rod Carroll.

Board recessed, subject to recall.
